Shaping Tomorrow’s Talent, Today

At Recal, we believe the future of our industry begins in the classroom. That’s why we maintain partnerships with several academic institutions, including Universidad Panamericana, Tecnológico de Ocotlán, UNIVA, Universidad Autónoma de Chapingo, Tecnológico Superior de Jalisco Campus Chapala, and Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG), among others. These collaborations allow us to support the development of young talent and give students their first glimpse into the real-world workplace.

While most of our interns are university students in their sixth semester or beyond, we occasionally welcome highly motivated students earlier in their academic journey. One such case is Karla Berenice Rodríguez Martínez, a third-semester student of Industrial Design Engineering at Universidad de Guadalajara (UDG).

“Here I learned to use AutoCAD and to draft in both 2D and 3D. I’ve also had the chance to follow real projects, supervise work on the shop floor, identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate as part of a team. This experience has helped me grow professionally and socially, and has given me a clearer understanding of how the industry works,” Karla shares.

That’s why preparing new generations must go beyond just passing on knowledge — it should focus on developing key skills and fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

We currently host interns from institutions such as Universidad Tecnológica de Chapala, Tecnológico de Ocotlán, Tecnológico de Ciudad Guzmán, Universidad Tecnológica de la Zona Metropolitana de Guadalajara, CUCEI, CUCEA, CUCS, CECiTEC El Salto, and CONALEP El Salto. We take great pride in seeing how each of them brings enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and a strong desire to learn.

One of our recent success stories comes from our collaboration with Universidad Panamericana, whose students built a scale bridge for the Student Steel Bridge Competition 2025, an international contest held in May. Thanks to the team’s dedication and preparation, they earned a historic first place at the regional level in five out of seven categories: Construction Speed, Structural Efficiency, Stiffness, Cost Estimation, and Construction Economy, as well as first place overall in their region.

At the global level, facing off against over 200 universities from around the world, they placed 22nd overall in the national phase—the best result in the team’s history.

At Recal, we know that opening our doors to young talent not only transforms their future — it enriches ours. Preparing and developing the next generation will always be a meaningful pursuit for us. It’s a mission we carry out with pride, because we believe in the potential of those who will build tomorrow.
