Recal in the Community: Social Commitment and Sustainable Development

At Recal, our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development is an integral part of our business strategy. We allocate resources to support community projects, offer educational scholarships in our area of influence, and make donations to non-profit organizations that share our values.

In 2023, we strengthened our “Recal in the Community” program by appointing a dedicated Director, who reports directly to the General Management. This leadership ensures the proper management of resources and the fulfillment of objectives across our five areas of focus: Fair Income, Community, Education, Health, and a Culture of Peace (Civics).

Initiatives and Achievements 2023

  • Educational Infrastructure: We installed canopies and made improvements to 8 kindergarten and elementary schools, benefiting more than 4,000 children in surrounding communities.
  • Community Engagement: We established a partnership with the Civil Association “Un Salto con Destino,” which has over 20 years of deep roots in the community of El Salto. Their understanding of local issues allowed us to analyze and address the most urgent needs through strategic contributions.
  • Educational Scholarships: We provided full scholarships to students at CONALEP and CECYTEJ, covering their studies from start to graduation, boosting their academic and professional development.
  • Support for Social Causes: We made monetary and in-kind donations to various civil associations that support orphaned children, children with cancer, Down syndrome, or in vulnerable social situations.
  • Dual Education: In collaboration with educational institutions such as the Universidad Interamericana de Desarrollo, UDG CUTLAJO, and the Council of Industrial Chambers of Jalisco, we implemented a dual education program at Recal to train future professionals.
  • Social Responsibility Recognition: For the fifth consecutive year, we received the “Socially Responsible Company ESR® 2024” Distinction, awarded by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi). This recognition reflects our way of doing business, integrating strategies that create economic, social, and environmental value.
